Black hair takes a beating with the stress of relaxing and pressing. Add to that the heat stress from hot curling our hair. Well, I have a super conditioner that I use with wonderful results: Jamaican Black Castor Oil.
I put the oil on my hair before shampooing and let it sit for a couple hours. You can speed up the process by sitting under the dryer for 20 minutes. I hate the heat so I just put it on while I do stuff around the house. Recently I have just been using the oil by itself but I have previously used it mixed into a creamy conditioner (like Cholesterol.) Either way strenghtens/condition the hair and cleans the scalp. The oil leaves your hair stronger, softer and shinier which encourages hair growth.
I’m in New York and find the product in beauty supplies stories but if you can’t find it in your area it can be found online. The brand I use is Tropic Isle Living and it can be found online at Sams. The company actually has a whole line of products using the black castor oil but I have only tried the oil itself as I am familiar with the wonderful results.
