Prince William married Kate Middleton Friday morning and the top-secret wedding dress was finally revealed. The dress was made in secret at Buckingham Palace and everyone with with knowledge of the dress, including the designer, was sworn to secrecy.
The dress, designed by Sarah Burton For Alexander McQueen, has a lace bodice and full silk skirt. It has long-sleeves and is made from fine ivory and white satin gazar. The bodice was made from hand-cut Englich lace, flowers and French Chantilly lace. She wore a lace veil with a Cartier diamond tiara borrowed from the Queen.
I thought the gown was simple and classy. Some people thought it should have been more flashy. She is not allowed to show her arms in the church so she had to wear sleeves but she went with lace so that bared her arms to a certain extent. The lace bodice added nice details to the dress.
From what I have seen of Kate she dresses simple and tasteful so if she had worn something else, I feel she would have not looked like herself. I like the dress how about you?
Kate’s dress is being compared to Grace Kelly’s dress when she married Prince Rainer of Monaco.
